Summer Holiday Week 1 » RYA Stage 3 - Full

A skills improver course for juniors who have completed RYA stage 2 to take their sailing to the next level. This course follows the RYA Youth Sailing Syllabus and works towards Stage 3.

They will build on and further the skills learned in stage 1 and 2 to make them more competent and knowledgeable sailors as well as learning new skills such as reefing, how to sail on all points of sail for a triangular course, multiple manoeuvres including coming alongside a moored boat and picking up a mooring as well as gain an understanding of the course and starting procedure for racing. Teaching takes place on the water, on land and in the classroom depending on the group and weather conditions.

Participants will need to bring along their Youth Sailing Scheme logbook but a certificate will be provided if the course is successfully completed. . Boat, wetsuit, spray top & buoyancy aid hire is included.

Pre-course requirements: RYA Stage 2, age 7 to 15.
